Shipping Policy
This Shipping Policy is issued by Berkshire Collective LLC, doing business as Flame & Slate.
Effective Date: August 16, 2026
1. Overview
Flame & Slate ships premium outdoor living and wellness products throughout the contiguous United States. Because our catalog includes both in-stock merchandise and handcrafted, configured, or made-to-order products, processing and delivery times vary by product.
Standard Shipping for In-Stock Products
- Service: Standard Shipping
- Cost: Free shipping on most orders within the contiguous United States
- Typical order processing time: 1–3 business days
- Typical transit time after shipment: 5–8 business days
- Typical total delivery time: 6–11 business days
- Coverage: In-stock products unless otherwise stated on the product page or order confirmation
The 6–11-business-day estimate does not apply to made-to-order, customized, backordered, special-order, or otherwise identified extended-lead-time products.
2. Shipping Destinations
We currently ship within the contiguous United States, consisting of the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia.
We do not currently ship to:
- Alaska
- Hawaii
- U.S. territories
- International destinations
- P.O. boxes that cannot accept the applicable parcel or freight carrier
Certain remote or limited-access locations within the contiguous United States may require additional shipping arrangements or charges.
3. Shipping Costs
Free shipping applies to most orders within the contiguous United States.
Additional charges may apply to:
- Oversized or exceptionally heavy products
- Custom or made-to-order products
- Remote or limited-access destinations
- Residential freight delivery
- Liftgate, inside, threshold, or other enhanced delivery services
- Locations requiring special equipment or delivery arrangements
If an additional shipping charge applies, Flame & Slate will disclose it before the order is finalized or processed. The customer will have an opportunity to approve the charge before proceeding.
Product- or manufacturer-specific shipping terms shown on the applicable product page or provided before or in the order confirmation take precedence over the general shipping estimates and procedures described in this policy.
4. Processing, Production, and Delivery Times
In-Stock Products
In-stock products typically ship within 1–3 business days. Transit after shipment generally takes an additional 5–8 business days.
These timeframes are estimates and may vary due to supplier inventory, destination, carrier capacity, weather, holidays, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Saunas and Made-to-Order Products
Some saunas, cold plunges, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, furniture, wellness products, and other specialty items are handcrafted, configured, customized, or made to order.
These products require a production or preparation period before shipment. The applicable estimated lead time will be displayed on the product page, provided during the quotation or configuration process, or otherwise communicated before the order is finalized whenever the product has a known extended production or fulfillment timeframe.
The stated production lead time is separate from transit time. Once production is complete and the product is released for shipment, additional carrier transit time will apply.
For example:
Estimated delivery timeframe = production or preparation lead time + transit time
Made-to-order lead times are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates. Manufacturing schedules may change because of material availability, customization requirements, production capacity, quality-control review, carrier availability, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
If the estimated lead time changes materially after an order is placed, Flame & Slate will contact the customer with updated information and available options.
Backordered and Special-Order Products
If a product is available for backorder or special order, its anticipated availability or shipping date will be disclosed on the product page or communicated before the order is finalized.
We will not represent an unavailable product as being immediately in stock.
Order Confirmation
Certain high-value, customized, configured, or freight-delivered orders may require confirmation of:
- Product configuration
- Current manufacturer availability
- Production lead time
- Delivery address and site accessibility
- Freight requirements
- Applicable shipping charges
An order is not considered ready for fulfillment until all required product and delivery details have been confirmed.
5. Shipping Methods and Carriers
Smaller orders may ship through carriers such as UPS, FedEx, USPS, or a comparable parcel-delivery provider.
Large, heavy, or oversized products generally ship through a freight carrier. The carrier used depends on the product, manufacturer, destination, and delivery requirements.
When tracking is available, customers will receive shipment information by email after the order ships.
6. Freight Delivery
Many Flame & Slate products are too large or heavy for ordinary parcel delivery and require scheduled freight service.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, freight delivery is generally curbside. Curbside delivery does not ordinarily include:
- Placement inside a home, garage, or other structure
- Movement to a backyard or final installation location
- Unpacking
- Assembly
- Installation
- Debris or packaging removal
The freight carrier will normally contact the customer to schedule a delivery appointment. An adult may be required to be present to receive and inspect the shipment.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the delivery location is accessible to the carrier. Before delivery, please notify Flame & Slate of conditions such as:
- Narrow or restricted roads
- Low bridges or low-hanging wires
- Gated access
- Steep or unpaved driveways
- Islands or remote locations
- Limited space for a large delivery vehicle to turn around
- Requirements imposed by a building, community, or homeowners association
Additional charges resulting from inaccessible delivery conditions, missed appointments, redelivery, storage, address changes, or services requested after shipment may be the customer's responsibility.
Leisurecraft Residential Deliveries
Leisurecraft sauna products are subject to manufacturer-specific residential freight requirements. Larger shipments may require the customer to arrange appropriate equipment, including a forklift, to safely offload the shipment from the delivery vehicle.
Customers purchasing Leisurecraft products should review the delivery requirements shown on the applicable product page before ordering and ensure that appropriate equipment and assistance are available at the time of delivery.
Leisurecraft residential sauna shipments are also subject to the manufacturer's applicable residential drop-ship charge. Any applicable shipping or delivery charges will be disclosed before the order is finalized or processed.
7. Receiving and Inspecting Freight Deliveries
Customers must inspect freight shipments carefully at delivery.
Before signing the delivery receipt:
- Count the packages, cartons, crates, or pallets.
- Inspect the exterior packaging for punctures, crushing, tears, water exposure, broken bands, or other visible damage.
- Photograph the shipment and any visible damage.
- Describe visible damage or missing pieces on the carrier's delivery receipt.
- Do not sign the receipt as being in good condition if visible damage is present.
A notation such as “damaged” is less helpful than a specific description, such as “wooden crate punctured on right side” or “two cartons missing.”
If damage appears substantial, contact Flame & Slate before refusing the shipment whenever reasonably possible. Refusing a shipment without documented damage may result in redelivery, storage, or return-freight charges.
8. Damage, Shortage, and Delivery Claims
Visible Freight Damage
Report visible freight damage to Flame & Slate immediately and no later than 48 hours after delivery.
Please provide:
- Your order number
- Photographs of the complete shipment
- Photographs of the packaging
- Photographs of the damaged area
- A copy or photograph of the delivery receipt
- A description of the damage
Concealed Damage
Damage that was not visible until the product was unpacked should also be reported within 48 hours of discovery and as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
Keep all original packaging, cartons, crates, pallets, labels, and damaged components until the claim has been reviewed. Discarding packaging or moving, installing, modifying, or attempting to repair a damaged product before review may affect the manufacturer's or carrier's ability to evaluate the claim.
Missing Items or Components
Report missing products or components within seven days of delivery unless a shorter manufacturer-specific deadline was disclosed before purchase.
Damage and shortage claims are reviewed with the applicable manufacturer and carrier. Depending on the circumstances and applicable warranty or freight terms, the available resolution may include replacement parts, repair, replacement, another appropriate remedy, or a refund where required.
9. Order Tracking
When tracking information is available, Flame & Slate will send it to the email address associated with the order.
Freight tracking may initially show movement to a regional terminal. The carrier may then contact the customer separately to schedule final delivery.
Tracking and delivery estimates provided by carriers are estimates and may change while a shipment is in transit.
10. Delays and Lost Shipments
If an in-stock order has not shipped within its stated processing period, or if tracking shows an unusual delay, contact Flame & Slate at support@flameandslate.com or 833-569-3792.
The standard 6–11-business-day timeframe should not be used to determine whether a made-to-order or extended-lead-time product is delayed. These products are governed by the production or fulfillment estimate provided for that particular product or order.
If a carrier cannot locate a shipment, Flame & Slate will work with the manufacturer and carrier to initiate a trace or claim and determine the appropriate resolution.
11. Products Marked Delivered but Not Received
If tracking indicates that a parcel was delivered but you cannot locate it:
- Confirm that the shipping address on the order is correct.
- Check all entrances and delivery areas.
- Ask household members, neighbors, property managers, or building personnel whether they accepted it.
- Contact Flame & Slate promptly so we can assist with a carrier trace.
For freight orders, also confirm whether the shipment was delivered to a receiving area, loading area, property manager, or other authorized recipient.
12. Address Accuracy and Changes
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address, telephone number, email address, and relevant delivery instructions.
Contact Flame & Slate immediately if an address correction is needed. We cannot guarantee that an address can be changed after an order has entered production, been processed, or shipped.
The customer may be responsible for charges resulting from:
- Incorrect or incomplete address information
- Address changes after shipment
- Carrier reconsignment
- Redelivery
- Storage
- Missed delivery appointments
- Refused shipments without confirmed damage
13. Cancellations Before Shipment
Contact Flame & Slate promptly if you need to request a cancellation.
In-stock orders may be processed quickly and cannot always be canceled after fulfillment begins.
Made-to-order, customized, configured, or special-order products may enter production shortly after an order is confirmed. Once production, customization, procurement, or preparation has begun, cancellation may not be available or may be subject to manufacturer charges.
Product-specific cancellation terms will be disclosed where applicable. See our Return & Refund Policy for additional information.
14. Returns and Refunds
Most eligible products may be returned within 30 days of delivery, subject to the conditions in our Return & Refund Policy.
Made-to-order, custom, personalized, special-order, installed, assembled, used, clearance, or otherwise designated non-returnable products are not eligible for return unless otherwise expressly stated on the applicable product page, or unless they arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect.
Certain manufacturers have more restrictive return policies. When manufacturer-specific return terms apply, the applicable product-specific terms will govern.
For eligible change-of-mind returns, the customer is generally responsible for return shipping and any applicable manufacturer restocking charges.
Flame & Slate will assist with products that arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect in accordance with the applicable manufacturer warranty, freight-claim procedure, our Return & Refund Policy, and applicable law.
Please review the complete Return & Refund Policy before purchasing.
